EFI Fitting to AN-6

Here's a lil ditty I did for a customer who's putting a neat lil friscoed tank on his '09 Sporty. In order to make it work I'll have to mount an inline fuel pump and regulator and into the injector bodies. Problem is HD makes this dumb connector part of the hose. So all I had to do is make an adapter to fit the AN-6 hoses we're using. More pics to follow....

New torture device

Just what Dr Chop ordered. A cheap and easy way to cut tubing, small tabs, and fingers. It uses my 4-1/2" grinder as a chop saw.

Bates Super Kicker

Cycle Swap Meet: Sunday

  Come get your Xmas shopping all in one place. You got schwinns for the kids, pink leather nipple tassels for your sugar-momma, Dice t-shirts for good friends, and pick one of three one-off Air Cleaners from Still Kicking. I don't have pics yet but I can describe them to those not going to Long Beach.

1.) 6-1/2x4" Oval K&N chrome-faced filter rocked at a 45 deg. angle for extra leg clearance and only 1-3/4" in height. Outfitted w/ an aluminum backing plate drilled for a cv carb and includes a Buell CV support bracket. Perfect for you street tracker, modder sportster.

2.) Next up, a traditional genuine Superior (flying goose) air cleaner cover 6" diaameter, chrome in excellent shape, matched up to one of my backing plates and 5" K&N and stainless hardware. Drilled for a Super E. Perfect for that non-period correct Shovelhead winter project.

3.) Lastly, a BUBBA custom performance version with an inverted cone built-in and ready to suck air like Debby does Dallas. Drilled for a CV carb and also includes a Buell bracket. Email for more details right.........

Stray Chop Strut

If you have ever really looked at how ugly the factory put together the shock bungs to the stamped frame to the fender struts, you would lop those off too. I shaped them to reveal the bungs to look somewhat molded into the now rear egg-shaped section. Next will be a 6" fender mounted from the inside shock mounts, seat pan to fit and a small sissy bar for essential gear to strap to. The plan is to draw the eye back to the center of the wheel, making the rear end look like it was intended to be that way. Make sense?

HoneyPot Tail Lights

Pedro gave me this vintage glass lens to make a tail light with it. So I came up with this design inspired by my dad's old Pontiac w/ some added grooves.

Get Your Bolt-on

I needed to make a quick stainless 10mm pin so I chucked up a bolt, cut a groove and domed the head. Done.

Weld-In Clutch Perch

Here's a lil diddy I made for Eli at Cheapskate Cycles. 3-piece design comes together nicely giving a clean no nonsense control. He got 2 sets as he is running a front brake drum. Lucky for him, I have a grip of new chrome dogbone levers hanging around.

Dream it...Build it...Ride it...Repeat...

We did a chain conversion on Lucky Tim's sportsta and I decided I didn't like his sprocket cover anymore so I got inspired while eating a wholesome breakfast. But that's not all folks. A nifty exhaust hanger will weld in right on to the two bungs on the back. You'll see em later.

Open Driveshaft Mod for Model A

Here's a lil mod I did for Clyde that wasn't too happy with a single key used to lock his open driveshaft. I turned a shouldered bung, pressed into the yoke and drilled and reamed for four dowel pins placed half into the shaft and half in the yoke. That oughta hold it from coming apart.

What a weekend !!! Stayed in the shop Friday and Saturday working on a customer's XS650. Rewired and fab work : brake switch/ exhaust hanger tab, trick fender mounts, reworked a false oilbag/ electric box and new mounts, axle adjuster pads, forward control rework, and more.......all work and no play.....I'm due for an escape......to the massage parlor.......

...coming soon to the store are my Simpleton Shorty clutch controls for evo type clutch cables in polished aluminum. And of course my Sporty Grab Bar tail section which you can add a sissy bar or p-pad to and unbolt when not needed.
   Also for those in need of a much cleaner brake MC than stock, I have a line on some Brembo units with shorty levers available in 11-16mm bore sizes and can be bored out for 1" bars. My new clutch levers will match this Brembo setup nicely. Email me HERE for more info.
  Pictured is the Simpleton Clutch in chrome with later stock style lever (also available) which matches stock brake lever. All include a dome-headed stainless pin I made for evo clutch cables.

Smooth flow~~

With a new 2.2 tank, the seat was sitting way too high on top of the stock tank/seat mount. To fix this ugliness, the stock tank/seat mount was cut out of the frame and a new Biltwell seat hinge bung was welded on to bring the seat down. To mount the tank, a specialized bung was slipped in the frame, making it possible to swap the 2.2 tank for a 3.3 stock tank for long trips.



Now there's a nice smooth transition from the tank to the seat.

Brembo meet Acme, Acme meet Brembo

I previously posted some pics of the rotor carrier I turned and mated to a star hub. It wasn't easy but now looking at the final product (minus polish) I think it was well worth it. I made a custom axle, the "wishbone" caliper bracket and all needed spacers and tie rod. This is going on a my bud Pedro's wishbone frame shovel. The springer is Acme and I must say they kick ass with their quality and design. I can't wait to see his bike finished up.

   After a couple of fender and strut chops I did for friends, they were left looking neutered cuz something was just missing back there. I have been asked to chop it but leave enough room for the OL, make a sissy bar but "I want to be able to take it off easily." So I came up with these grab bar tail loops (still in prototyping stage). I would like to get some input on these to see what sporty guys think of their rear ends.
   * What I'm thinking is they'll be available p-coated or raw for those who want to weld in a sissy bar, school-boy book-rack,  p-pad tab, or tail light. 
   * They will mount in place of the 1/4" spacer in between frame and shock and lock into groove in front providing you drill a 5/16 hole.
   * They will include a tab welded on inside of loop to hold fender or tail light. 
   * For earlier models I will change the ears a bit.
   * Will accommodate a  Biltwell Banana seat (shown with struts cut off below)

Cut the Swiss Cheese.......

Here are some pics sent to me by Ricardo Mueller from the land of fine watches, chocolate, and choppers, Switzerland. I was curious how a deep dish would look black and to my delight, I delight in what I see. He also got some slapstick pegs to help keep his knees in that fresh mountain breeze. Thanks for sharing Ric...the bike came out super cool and I especially dig that tank paint...FRESH....

Parachute Pull Start

  Normally you pull the rip cord when stopping that beast, but in this case we wanted to get it going!! So here's the thing...you know the brass knuckle pull starts, right but sometimes with high and tight pipes there's no room for it or even to get your hand in there to push the solenoid button. On the left side of the bike now, this bracket pulls triple duty : Pull start, push-button on/off 20amp switch, and a hold-down for the vent hose and filter.  It took a couple tries to get out all the kinks but I know Mikey is stoked now how it all turned out, plus he's a big nipple guy as well as a cougar hunter so I took that into consideration when designing it.
